Frederique Constant introduced the Vintage Racing Chronograph collection at Baselworld 2011. The new collection features the new Frederique Constant in-house self-winding mechanical chronograph movement calibre FC-396, which is visible through the sapphire caseback. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and has a power reserve of 42 hours. The case is 43 mm in diameter and fully hand polished. Functions include hours, minutes and seconds and chronograph. A date display/function was omitted, making for a very clean and uncluttered dial.

The vintage look, visible chronograph movement and relatively low price should make for a very popular collection among consumers looking for an affordable Swiss quality mechanical chronograph.

The Frederique Constant Vintage Racing Chronograph was the nicest collection Frederique Constant unveiled at Baselworld this year. Whether it is the quality of the finish on the fully polished case, or the in-house manufacture made chronograph movement, or the hand applied hand polished indices on the dial – Frederique Constant designers have done a good job with this timepiece.
